Sarnia's WAKE-up Call

Boarder Pass, in Sarnia Ontario will be the host the first ever event in Ontario to be held entirely behind a straight line cable.   Sarnia’s WAKE-up Call will be hosted behind the Sesitec System 2.0 and will be holding both an amateur and open category for wakeboarding and an open wakeskate division.

The format will be as follows:

Amateur Wakeboard -    This division will have both a men and women category in which riders in this division will be incapable of hitting the sliders and doing any sort of “loading of the line” tricks.  Riders will be given the opportunity to have 5 passes (there and back) in the first round of this competition.  The top 5 riders in this category will then be chosen to move on to the final round of 3 passes.                  Prizing will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place riders in each division.

Please note:  There is a three fall maximum, once you have fallen three times, your run is over.

Open Wakeboard – This category will feature some of Southwesterns best riders showing off their skills and trying to compete to see who is number one in this area.  With multiple other wakeboarding events going on in the month of August further north it has been hard to find a time to host such an event but we will be showcasing the talent from the southern Ontario part!  Riders will have the opportunity to have 8 passes (there and back) to compete in this division and will have the riding level capability to hit the sliders and also “load the line” air tricks.  The top 5 riders in this category will be chosen for a 5 pass final to choose number 1, 2 and 3.  There is also a two fall limit on this category.

Open Wakeskate – This category will be a combined effort of both men and women division and will be open to anyone who wants to compete on a wakeskate.  Riders will compete on a head to head basis, much like a tournament style format.  Each rider will be given 8 passes (there and back) to prove themselves better than their competing rider and move to the next round.  This will allow us to award one wakeskate champion for Sarnia’s WAKE-up Call 2010.  There will be a 3 fall maximum.

The contest itself will cost $25 per person and will guarantee you at the least 5 pulls (there and back) based on the rider not falling the max. amount.

The event will begin on August 14th at 10:00am sharp and will finish no later than 9:00pm.

We are still not 100% certain with what we want to do on the Sunday, August 15th.  A ride day where everyone pays a certain price to ride for the afternoon would be a great idea.  I’ve also thought of the idea of doing a tournament style breakdown like I mentioned in the wakeskate  division for the wakeboarders that are still around the area for the following day.  This is to be determined for now.
