Rider Bios

The eighth rider and ONLY female to be announced for Sarnia's first ever WAKE-up Call is:
ERIKA LANGMAN

I had the opportunity to ask Erika a few questions, here they are:


1.Introduce yourself, be creative. Start by saying your name and let it flow from there.
- Whats up everyone my name is Erika Sandra Langman, I am a lovely lady wakeboarder from the good ol town of Orangeville, Ontario. I like chocolate, bananas, the discovery channel, traveling, powder days, sunny days, long rails, calm water, big wakes and good company. I have a Commerce degree in marketing and management from Carleton in Ottawa but am currently taking a year to explore the world and work on my riding skills. whoooo

2. Age
- I was born april 15th 1985 so I am 23

3. Where were you born?
- Toronto general hospital

4. List your sponsors:
- O’neill, Liquid Force, Dragon, Shoreline

5. Where do you spend most of your time?
- This year I did a snow season in Big White, BC and a few months at CWC wakeboard cable park in the Philippines. In the summer I am usually on the Rideau river in Ottawa or at my cottage on Steenburg lake. Who knows in september!

6. Where is your favourite spots to ride?
- As long as there is a good crew and flat water I am good to go

7. What is your most memorable moment at a competition?
- I have so many I can’t count! It’s mostly with the people I meet – I have met so many cool people from all over the world and some of my closest friends I have met through wakeboarding. It’s all about the crew your with!

8. List some of your achievements:
- Canadian national team member,
- 3rd open women at CND nationals,
- 5th Pro women at wakestock world cup,
- WWA Worlds semifinalist,
- Pro tour competitor 2007,
- Ontario Provincial champion 06-07.

9. What are some of the goals you set for yourself?
- I want to be one of the best female riders in the world on rails

10. What do you hope to achieve in 2008?
- This year I have worked hard on improving my rail and kicker skills at CWC and also on snow. I hope to show that improvement at Wakestock, nationals and other contests and events this summer.

11. What is the most difficult trick you feel you have stomped?
- Batwing off the kicker, krypte off the water on the cable, 540s, big mute 360s, some pretty grabs, but mostly some big rail techy and stylish skills

12. What setup do you currently ride?
- Liquid Force Substance grind with amber’s bindings

13. Shout outs and thank you’s….
- Shout out to the family who have been so supportive this year, Mike at Dragon, Max at O’Neill, Everyone at LF, Linda and Chris at Shoreline. Also to the Bonney brothers for introducing me to CWC, everyone at CWC – the gov, anna, Reuben, Kim. Sarah Niblock for being my snowboard park buddy this snow season and the crew on the Rideu River.

14. Anything I have forgot?
- I have a rad cat named Neo and a car named brad. Unfortunately Brad passed away over the winter so I’ll be rocking my parents mini van for the summer – boo yeah. Other than that, nope! Think you got it all
